The M.Ed. program in Clinical Mental Health & Addictions Counseling is designed to provide students with an educational foundation in counseling theory and technique that will facilitate their achievement of the professional standards required for practice as a counselor in community agency settings. The program is organized into groups of required foundation courses, basic counseling courses, and specialized courses that enable a student to concentrate in community and addictions counseling. The minimum number of hours required is 54, including a one-semester Practicum and a year-long Internship that combines practice at New Leaf Clinic and a community agency setting.
