The primary goal of the Master of Arts in Counselor Education, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counseling option, is to prepare professionally educated and trained counselors to work as Alcohol and Drug Abuse counselors in a variety of settings and to be eligible for the New Jersey license LCADC. Students in the program will be provided with: a common core of professional counseling competencies based on national standards, specialized studies in the field of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counseling and supervised experiences in alcohol and drug abuse counseling. The program is an approved provider of the New Jersey Certification Board for initial and continuing education for addictions professionals.
