The field of Human Services includes diverse settings such as social service agencies, community mental health centers, family, child, and youth service agencies, veterans’ service agencies, court and correctional facilities, assisted living housing for the aging and anywhere there are human needs to be met. Populations typically served by these professionals include those experiencing addiction, the mentally ill, the aging, children and adolescents, the homeless, veterans, victims of domestic violence, and those experiencing the effects of poverty and joblessness.
