Syracuse University’s 12-credit Certificate of Advanced Study (CAS) in Addiction Studies examines the intersectionality of substance use and addictive behaviors with an emphasis on prevention, policy, and sustainable recovery. The CAS in Addiction Studies can be completed entirely online.
Syracuse University’s Addiction Studies Program is a New York State OASAS Certified Education and Training Provider. After completing the CAS in Addiction Studies program, students will have met the education requirements for the Credentialed Prevention Specialist (CPS), but must still meet the work experience, testing, and other requirements as specified by OASAS and IC&RC before earning the CPS.
