The ICUDDR Africa Regional Conference, 17th Kasr Al-Ainy Psychiatry Congress, & 14th Kasr Al-Ainy Child Psychiatry Congress titled "The Role of Universities in Shaping the Future: Advancing Substance Use Education, Research, and Policy in Africa," will be held from April 23-24, 2024, at Kasr Al-Aini Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, in Cairo, Egypt.

This conference will bring together leading experts, academics, policymakers, and professionals from across Africa to discuss and explore the crucial role that universities play in shaping the future of substance use education, research, and policy on the continent. Over the course of three days, we will address vital issues, share knowledge, and foster collaboration to strengthen the impact of educational institutions in combating substance use challenges in Africa.

Regional participation in this conference will be invaluable as we aim to engage a diverse group of stakeholders to advance the dialogue and influence policy change surrounding substance use.

Egypt's weather in April is perfect for exploring its ancient wonders. Temperatures range from 14°C to 29°C (57°F to 84°F) in the North, while the South experiences warmer temperatures, between 19°C to 35°C (66°F to 95°F).

Regional Weather Patterns:

Cairo and Alexandria: Enjoy mild temperatures, with average highs of 29°C (84°F) and lows of 14°C (57°F).
Luxor and Aswan: Experience warmer temperatures, with highs reaching 35°C (95°F) and 36°C (97°F), respectively.
Hurghada and Sharm El-Sheikh: Relax on the beaches with temperatures ranging from 19°C to 31°C (66°F TO 87°F).
April is also an excellent time to visit Egypt's beaches, as the sea temperatures are warm but not scorching hot, making it ideal for swimming, snorkeling, and diving.
