One of the most complex co-occurring disorders is attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Often misdiagnosed and comorbid with several other mental health challenges, those living with ADHD are particularly vulnerable to substance use disorders (SUD). The impairment to multiple areas of function begins under the age of 12 and sets the stage for developmental, academic, and self-esteem challenges. The purpose of this webinar is to understand the unique struggles of those living with ADHD and how SUD can manifest. The presentation will also explore the key diagnostic features of ADHD, clinical considerations, and recommendations for effective treatment.
