From October 30 to 31, 2024, V-ITTC members, in collaboration with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), conducted the “Training on Strong Families.” The program was attended by 30 faculty members and staff from medical schools, universities, CDC centers, and government departments in Vietnam. The training introduced the evidence-based “Strong Families” program, which supports parents and children aged 8–16 in building essential family skills to prevent drug use. Delivered by experts from UNODC Thailand, the Philippines, and Indonesia, the sessions provided participants with comprehensive guidance, including structured modules, role-playing, and interactive exercises. Participants gained practical skills to implement the program in community settings, with a focus on fostering positive communication, stress management strategies, and safe spaces for family dialogue. Assessments were conducted before and after the training to measure learning outcomes. Trained facilitators are expected to apply their knowledge in supporting families to build trust-based relationships and stronger connections within their communities.
