From December 9 to 11, 2024, V-ITTC members, in collaboration with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the Hanoi Sub-Department of Social Evils Prevention, conducted a training course titled “Treatment Family Intervention for Adolescents with Substance Use Disorders.” The program was attended by 34 participants, including representatives from the Hanoi Sub-Department of Social Evils Prevention, Hanoi Medical University, and 07 drug rehabilitation centers in Hanoi. Delivered by experts from the Hanoi Sub-Department of Social Evils Prevention, the Hanoi CDC, Hanoi Medical University, and the V-ITTC, the course covered topics such as adolescent brain development, common drugs among adolescents, and the UNFT-based family therapy method. Trainees engaged in role-playing exercises to practice resolving real-life family conflicts related to substance use and discussed challenges and positive aspects of family relationships. Pre- and post-training assessments were conducted to measure changes in knowledge. Participants are expected to apply the family therapy approach to support adolescents and foster healthier family dynamics in their work.
