THE COLLEGES OF MEDICINE OF SOUTH AFRICA & THE COLLEGE OF PSYCHIATRISTS Invites Psychiatry Residents in South Africa to a This workshop follows on from the 2 introductory lectures on Motivational Interviewing: o Motivational Interviewing for addiction and behaviour change o Counselling skills in Motivational Interviewing The workshop will be a combination of didactic teaching and practical application in the form of class exercises to practise micro-skills as well as client/counsellor role plays to practise a combination of skills acquired in the training. Students will be able to learn by observing their colleagues engage in role plays. Two facilitators will be available to supervise and provide immediate feedback to observed student role-plays.
