The ICUDDR Impact Stories project is dedicated to highlighting the meaningful ways ICUDDR has influenced lives and careers around the world. Through a collection of personal videos and written submissions, we are showcasing real stories from educators, professionals, and leaders who have experienced firsthand the transformative impact of ICUDDR’s training, resources, and global community. These testimonials celebrate not just individual growth, but the broader ripple effects on education, policy, and practice in the field of drug demand reduction.

We invite you to participate by written submission or video submission.

Use the following guidelines to record and submit your video:

What to Include in Your Video:

  1. Introduce Yourself (Name, Organization, Country)
  2. Share Your Challenge (What problem were you facing?)
  3. Explain How ICUDDR Helped (What support did you receive?)
  4. Describe the Impact (What changed as a result?)
  5. Final Message (Why should others engage with ICUDDR?)

Technical Instructions for Recording

📱 Recording on a Smartphone (iPhone/Android)

Step 1: Find a quiet, well-lit location (natural light is best).
Step 2: Open your phone’s Camera app and switch to "Video" mode.
Step 3: Hold your phone horizontally (landscape mode) for better quality.
Step 4: Place the phone on a steady surface or use a stand to avoid shaking.
Step 5: Press Record, take a deep breath, and start speaking!
Step 6: When done, press Stop and review your video.

👉 Pro Tip: If you're holding your phone, keep your arms steady or rest them on a table for support.

💻 Recording on a Computer (Windows/Mac)

Step 1: Use your laptop’s built-in webcam or an external camera.
Step 2: Open Zoom, QuickTime (Mac), or Camera App (Windows).
Step 3: Position yourself so your face is centered and well-lit.
Step 4: Click Record and start speaking.
Step 5: Click Stop when finished and save the file.

👉 Pro Tip: Close other programs to avoid interruptions and ensure smooth recording.

🎧 Improving Audio Quality

🔹 Record in a quiet room to minimize background noise.
🔹 If available, use headphones with a built-in mic for clearer sound.
🔹 Speak slowly and clearly – imagine you’re telling a friend your story.

🛠️ Editing & Trimming (Optional – If Needed)

If your video is too long or has mistakes, you can trim it before sending.

🔹 iPhone/Android: Open the video in the Photos app → Click Edit → Trim the start/end.
🔹 Windows: Open in the Photos app → Click Edit & Create → Trim.
🔹 Mac: Open in QuickTime Player → Go to Edit → Trim.

How to Submit Your Video

After recording, please send your video using one of these methods:

✅ Option 1: Upload to Google Drive
  1. Go to Google Drive (sign in if needed).
  2. Click New → File Upload and select your video.
  3. Once uploaded, right-click the file → Get Link → Set to “Anyone with the link can view.”
  4. Send the link to [email protected]
✅ Option 2: WeTransfer (For Large Files, Over 25MB)
  1. Go to wetransfer.com.
  2. Click Upload Files and select your video.
  3. Enter [email protected] in the "Send To" box.
  4. Click Transfer and send.

Final Reminders:

✔️ Keep your video between 1-3 minutes long.
✔️ Speak clearly and naturally. Don’t worry about perfection!
✔️ Submit your video before the deadline: May 15, 2025.
