Dr. Salman Shehzad is a Professor of Clinical Psychology at the Institute of Clinical Psychology, University of Karachi. A clinical psychologist with a PhD, he brings extensive experience in substance use–related education, service delivery, and systems strengthening.
His work spans academic leadership and applied practice, with a focus on prevention, treatment, and recovery systems. He has contributed to the development of training programs for health and behavioral health professionals and has engaged with policymakers, academic institutions, and international partners to advance workforce development.
His combined academic and clinical perspective, along with his deep understanding of workforce needs in low- and middle-income countries, brings valuable insight to ICUDDR’s global work.
