Presented at the Lisbon Addictions Conference;

This session reviews an enhanced training approach for addiction treatment professionals that involves facilitated mentorship, using a new structured mentorship curriculum based on the eight Basic Level courses within the Universal Treatment Curriculum (UTC). The UTC curriculum has been implemented in over 60 countries throughout the world, and the specialized mentorship training is designed to refine core clinical skills that are necessary to effectively administer evidence-based addiction treatment services across different geographical regions and treatment modalities.

Session presentations describe the importance of ongoing mentorship to enhance didactic training in addiction treatment, the UTC mentorship curriculum development process, and results from a recently convened pilot mentorship training.
