Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Does the application need to be in English?
A. Yes, the application needs to be in English, but the research can be conducted in another language. We will do our best to find a U.S. research partner that is bi-lingual if necessary.

Q. When is the application due?
A. 12:00 AM local time January 15, 2022

Q. Do you need to have the U.S. PI identified before you submit the application?
A. No. If you already have a U.S. partner, please indicate that in the appropriate location on the application, but if you do not have a U.S. partner, we will work with you to identify one. You do not need to have a pre-established relationship with a U.S. based investigator in order to apply.

Q. When will applicants be notified of the outcome of the application?
A. February 4, 2022.

Q. Can I submit my application and attachments together?
A. No. The form is submitted through the website and the attachments are sent to info@icuddr.org

Q. How many parts does the application have?
A. Three. The abstract (500 word limit), barriers to conducting research (200 word limit), and how barriers will be addressed with the money (200 word limit).

Q. What additional requirements are there?
A. Signature form (download here) and CV or resume of PIs.

Q. I am missing a section, may I submit the form anyways?
A. No. All sections must be filled out on the form in order to be accepted for review.

Q. I can't seem to load my application into the google form. May I submit the full application via email?
A. Yes, you may submit the application via email to info@icuddr.org; Please be sure to respond to all of the questions on the form.

Application Process and Timeline

The application is an online form accessed via the ICUDDR website. Link to form here

Applicants are required to complete all sections of the form including obtaining signature from the appropriate university official by the submission deadline of 12:00 AM local time, January 15, 2022. No late applications will be considered. Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by February 4, 2022 and will be expected to begin work immediately.
