APPLY FOR FUNDING TO SUPPORT YOUR PROJECTS


The International Consortium of Universities for Drug Demand Reduction (ICUDDR) is excited to offer funding opportunities to support projects that advance our mission. There are two types of funding available:

Number one in yellow dot

ITTC Funding

Open only to eligible International Technology Transfer Centers (ITTCs).

Number two in yellow dot

University Project Funding

Open to eligible ICUDDR member universities that do not host an ITTC.


Eligibility Criteria

ITTC Funding

  • Eligible ITTCs are located in low- and middle-income countries, as defined by the World Bank. These countries include: Argentina, Colombia, India, Indonesia, Nigeria, Peru, South Africa, Thailand, Ukraine, and Vietnam.
  • ITTC Directors who are ICUDDR Board Members may submit ITTC Funding applications, but they must excuse themselves from review and selection decisions.

University Project Funding

  • ICUDDR member universities in low- and middle-income countries, as defined by the World Bank, without an ITTC may apply.
  • Regional Coordinators at member universities can request funding for their university. However, funding requests for regional projects in low- and middle-income regions should be submitted through the regional work plan.

Application Process

The application process is the same for both types of funding.

Part 1: Letter of Intent

  • Deadline: Saturday, November 30, 2024, by 11:59 pm EDT (Washington, DC)
  • Eligible applicants can submit multiple letters of intent, with each describing a separate project.
  • Only submissions through the designated form by the deadline will be accepted. The form allows saving progress to return later for completion.
  • Letters of intent must include a statement of need, project description, draft budget, and other details, and may be submitted in English or Spanish. Please review the form for the complete list of required information.

In order to submit your letter of intent, please be ready to sign-in using your google account.


 

ICUDDR staff will review letters of intent, and selected applicants will be invited to submit full applications based on their project’s relevance to ICUDDR’s mission and adherence to the application guidelines. Selected applicants will be notified by Friday, December 6, 2024, at 5:00 pm EDT (Washington, DC).

 


Part 2: Full Application

  • Deadline: Friday, January 10, 2025, by 11:59 pm EDT (Washington, DC)
  • Selected applicants will receive instructions via email on completing the full application, which will include additional project details, such as a timeline and budget justification. ICUDDR will offer informational sessions to support selected applicants in completing the full application. Details about these informational sessions will be provided in the email inviting the selected applicants to apply.

 

 

Notification & Timeline

Awards


A review committee will evaluate applications based on project impact, alignment with ICUDDR’s mission, scalability, and sustainability. Factors like geographic diversity and topic variety may also influence the final award decisions.

All applicants will be notified by Friday, January 24, 2025, about the funding decisions. ICUDDR will work promptly with awardees' institutions to finalize agreements and disburse funds.

 

Project Timeline


Project Period: February 15, 2025 - September 29, 2025

Awardees are encouraged to complete projects within this period. If delays occur, ICUDDR may offer carryover funding, subject to availability and project progress. ICUDDR will provide guidance on requesting carryover funding if needed.
