This study investigates the number of quit attempts required to achieve abstinence among individuals with substance use disorder (SUD). The findings may hold broader relevance for stakeholders due to its international focus regarding data collection. The study highlights that substances like opioids and pain medications require significantly more quit attempts compared to others, with factors such as SUD severity, years of use, and age of onset influencing outcomes. These results underscore the importance of targeted and early interventions to enhance recovery and reduce relapse rates.
