Alcohol Misuse and Gun Violence: An Evidence-based Approach to State Policy

Co-authored with the Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Violence Solutions, this report offers a set of state-based policy recommendations to address the intersection of alcohol misuse and firearms.

A core component of our public health approach is assessing through research, and the best available evidence that our policy recommendations are effective and strive for equitable outcomes. To achieve this, the authors use the Racial Equity Impact Assessment (REIA) tool for Gun Violence Prevention to inform their recommendations.
